Jordan returns to the top of the AA heap, and prevented a Marshall back to back repeat with a four set win over Jordan. TODD BACHMAN TOURNAMENT
LAKEVILLE NORTH first round
JORDAN jaguars 2, BLAINE bengals 0
(25-23, 25-18)
The #2AA Jordan Jaguars beat the bigger #8AAA Blaine Bengals in two sets. Jordan overcame a slow start in set one. Jordan took a time out at 6-3 trying to breathe life into their game. Blaine held a 15-9 advantage when Jordan went on a five point run, four off of Brittany Chambers serve. Chambers had three kills in that run. Jordan didn't take the lead until Leah Dietel's serve when the Jags were in the midst of a four point run. Jordan led 21-19 before an Ari Mewhorter side out kill for Blaine. Blaine had to use their second time out after Jordan led 23-21. The Bengals did tie it at 23 after that, but Chambers rose to the challenge with her 10th kill of the set to give the ball back. A Blaine hitting error finished off set one.
8 straight side outs started out set two. Blaine again took a lead, winning the race to 10. The Bengals biggest lead came at 13-10. That is when the Jordan went on an 8-1 run and they didn't look back. Blaine missed on three of their last four serves. Also Jordan closed with five straight side outs. Jordan led 21-17 when a three point run put them on the verge. Blaine sided out once more on a block, but the serving problem reared it's head again.
Brittany Chambers had 19 points for the Jaguars. Ari Mewhorter led Blaine with 9 points.

APPLE VALLEY CHAMPIONSHIP
JORDAN jaguars 2, MINNEOTA vikings 0
(25-21, 25-11)In a match up of the last year's AA and A Minnesota state champions it was Jordan shaking the cobwebs off after trailing in game one to triumph in the finals.
Minneota led 11-6 when coach Chambers took a time out. That shook things up and Jordan started cleaning up their game. After the time out Jordan outscored Minneota 19-10.
Jordan continued to ride that momentum in game two with a 25-11 victory. Jordan started off with three straight points including an ace from Amanda Dietel. Brittany Chambers had 8 kills in this game plus an ace. Chambers has great court awareness and places the ball where the defense isn't. She can also pound the ball. Besides Chambers the Jaguars have Leah Dietel to pound out kills. Jordan, therefore has two strong options to side out, and they exploit the options every time they get a chance. Jordan had 10 straight FBSO in game two (10/10) and if you go back to game one 12 in a row.
