DROWNING
Newly hired Elms College volleyball coach David Hildebrandt drowned after slipping on rocks during a camping trip near the swift river in New Hampshire.

POLICE BLOTTER
Teri Rhodes, a volleyball player from Mercyhurst college in Pennsylvania, pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and faces a maximum of 10 to 20 years in prison. She suffocated her newborn baby last year. Rhodes went to Livonia Ladywood HS in Michigan. From the MLive site.

Gopher Schedule, More Braegelman

FALL SCHEDULE
The Gophers have released their fall schedule. Minnesota will host two tournaments this year with the Diet Coke Classic on September 12-14. The next weekend they will host the Gopher Invitational. Their first home Big 10 game is against Northwestern on September 26.

Iowa's Hawkeye Carver Arena will undergo renovations.

COLLEGE DECISIONS
Brittany Schreader of JWP will play volleyball for Bethany Lutheran College.

POLICE BLOTTER
Jane Passa, the NDSCS Athletic Director and volleyball coach, has been sentenced for drunken driving. From the Grand Forks Herald.

Law Suit

COURT TIME
The parents of a girls sexually abuse by Troy Bernard, former Montgomery-Lonsdale coach, are suing the school. The parents claim the school district is partially responsible for the behavior. The suit is now in federal court. From the Mankato Free Press.

According to Sid Hartman's column on Sunday, the Gopher volleyball team was $799,986 in the red this past year.

BANQUETS
Illinois held their end of the year banquet and four players received special awards.

The Gopher end of the year banquet will take place on Saturday, Feb. 9th from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. The Golddiggers will be hosting the event.

POLICE BLOTTER
This is from Michigan, but I found it interesting. Apparently a father was convicted of attacking a volleyball coach and spectators. Now he is appealing. From WHMI FM.

Court Time, Transfer

COURT TIME
Troy Bernard, former Montgomery-Lonsdale girls volleyball coach, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for having a sexual relationship with a 14 year old player. From the Mankato Free Press.

TRANSFER
Whitney Tremain is leaving Michigan State and is headed to Grand Valley State. The 5-11 OH didn't see much court time. From the Grand Rapids Press.
