GOPHERS OPEN TODAY
Minnesota travels to Notre Dame to open their volleyball season at 5 pm. Fans here can see the Gophers face alumni on Sunday. From the StarTribune. The Pioneer Press has a feature on Kelly Roysland and her adjustment from basketball to volleyball.

Southwest MN State is off to California to open their season. They are at the Cal State San Bernadino Classic. From the Marshall Independent.
Winona State is ready to roll this season with six starters back in action. The Warriors are at Adams State in Colorado for their season opening tournament. From the Winona Daily News.

SEPPALA ERA
Dan Seppala is Apple Valley's second coach in 31 years. Yesterday was the first practice in the post Walt Weaver Era. The Star Tribune looks at the volleyball change at Apple Valley and the football change at Hastings.
EXPECTATIONS
Southwest MN State has developed a strong reputation in recent years. They are looking to make the NCAA regionals for the fourth straight year. SW MN State also has the Northern Sun Preseason Player of the Year in Erin Contons. From the Marshall Independent.
