STMA ADVANCES
St. Michael-Albertville swept Alexandria in 8AAA last night in Sauk Rapids. The second game was a tight 28-26 win for the Knights. A report from the action:
It was a total team effort for STMA.
Maria Berning and Brittany Weiss were amazing on the serve. Allie Knutson was fantastic at defense.
It was hard for Alex to defend the balanced attack by the STMA hitters.
But Alex was solid in defense and did not let any point go without a big fight. They did not give up until after the final point of the game.
STMA setter Catherine Yager and Right Side Katherine Harms were very solid in the
match.
STMA will now play Woodbury in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 11 am. Woodbury beat STMA in the semifinals at Eastview in October.
