EDEN PRAIRIE TOURNAMENT

Eden Prairie advanced to their own tournament finals with a two game sweep over #6A Mayer Lutheran. Taylor Simpson had 8 points to lead EP.

The Eagles got the jump early with a 4-0 lead in game one. Three of the first four points were on ML errors. Add on that the EP side out game which checked in on game one with a .778 FBSO% plus only three EP errors and you come up with a EP victory. EP simply didn't make many mistakes. The Eagles had four runs in game one, all four points or greater. The Crusaders tried to stop the momentum at 11-5, and 19-11, but each time EP added to their totals. In the final EP four point run in game one ML had three errors.

Mayer Lutheran started off with the lead in game two. It was a fairly tight game at 7-6 when Katie Roehle put down a side out kill giving the ball to Hayley Buchanan. Buchanan then served up 8 straight points, four of which were aces. ML tried to halt the march at 10-7, but EP marched on to 15-7 lead. ML responded with three straight points. but never could get their FBSO game going against EP. The Crusaders didn't stop the Eagles the last four servers. Three of the last four EP points came on kills from Taylor Simpson.
