UConn swept Manhattan at home. Bridget Denson-Dorman had 22 assists for UConn.

Creighton won twice in their own tournament on Saturday with a sweep over Montana State. Allie Oelke had seven kills. The Blue jays also swept Stephen F. Austin. Oelke had 8 aces for the tournament to set a new record.

Denver lost to Alabama in four and then beat Seton Hall in a sweep in the Sooner Legends tournament. Kresson Vreeman of Central Christian had 34 assists vs Alabama and 42 against Seton Hall.

Fairfield lost twice at the Aztec Invitational on Saturday. The Stags were swept by host San Diego State and fell to UC Santa Barbara in four. Karlie Urbaniak of Mabel-Canton had 11 kills for Fairfield vs San Diego State.

North Dakota State ruined host UTEP (Texas El Paso) Sun Bowl Invitational with a five game win. Earlier in the day they dropped Texas Southern in three. Christy Stuewe (Mayer Lutheran) was named MVP of the tournament. The awards didn't stop there for the Bison with Kari Fagnan (Fridley) nabbing the MVLibero award. Kelly Lopez (DGF) also was named All tournament.

Northern Iowa swept Wright State with Champlin Park's Amy Sampson notching 15 kills. In the second game of the UNI tournament, the Panthers fell to Kentucky in five. Sampson had 10 kills in this contest.

Providence swept Holy Cross to open the season. Sarah Fleming of Cretin-Derham Hall had 16 kills for Providence.

Stony Brook was 2-1 this weekend at the Buffalo Classic. They lost to North Carolina in four on Friday. On Saturday they beat host Buffalo in a sweep and then edged Baylor in five. Alicia Nelson of Eastview had 5 kills against the Tar Heels.

At the Super 8 Classic at Central Michigan, UW Green Bay twice: a four gamer with Siena and then a sweep loss to Robert Morris. Bethlehem Academy's Betty Slinger had 53 assists against Siena. She had 35 assists against Robert Morris.

Today the Gophers face the alumni at 1 pm.
