GOPHERS PICKED 3RD
The Minnesota Gophers have been tabbed by the Big 10 conference coaches to finish third. Penn State is in the top spot, while Wisconsin is slated for second. Seniors Kelly Bowman, and Meredith Nelson and Junior Jesse Jones have been selected to the preseason Big 10 team. More from the Big 10 press release.

OSSEO TRIP
Coach Bill Quan will take his squad out to California to visit former assistant Anthoy Chen. Chen is the coach at Leigh HS in San Jose. Last year Leigh had one player sign with a DI school Santa Clara. Osseo will stay there for three days.

MICHIGAN SEASONS
I normally don't report on other states, but I thought this might be of interest.
The Muskegon Chronicle is not in favor of the switch of the basketball and volleyball seasons. Right now volleyball is a winter sport. A court ordered Michigan to switch the two seasons for the 2007 season. The winter season collides with the JO season. Apparently the lawsuit started with volleyball parents complaining about the lack of time for JO season. The Dowagiac Daily News chimes in on the change of seasons.
