CONCORDIA ST. PAUL #4, UM DULUTH #5
In the first AVCA DII poll of the year Concordia St. Paul is at the fourth position, and UM Duluth is at #5. Grand Valley State, last year's DII champ is in first. Concordia St. Paul opens up their season in Tampa in the Nova Southeastern tournament. Minnesota State is also there. UM Duluth opens the season in the Northern Michigan Tournament this weekend. GOPHER HIGH EXPECTATIONS
The Minnesota Gophers returned from Europe optimistic on the upcoming season. The Gophers return five starters including preseason Big 10 first team players Kelly Bowman, Jessy Jones, and Meredith Nelson. Here is the StarTribune's take on the season ahead.

UM CROOKSTON
UM Crookston is looking for consistency this year. Erin Flynn will be counted on to lead the Eagles. UMC was picked to finish 7th in the Norther Sun this season. Here is more on coach Dave Simon's team in the Crookston Times.

OSSEO SCRIMMAGE
Osseo today held a scrimmage with five other teams: Anoka, Edina, Minneapolis Henry, Orono and Rosemount. Osseo had their JV in since their varsity is in San Jose, California.
