Semifinals Set for D2, D3 Regions

GOPHER WEEKEND
The MN Daily highlights the upcoming weekend. They will try to shake that unexpected loss to Michigan. Illinois and Northwestern may face some Gopher wrath. It is also "Hometown" days today for Kelly Bowman and Malama Peniata.

NORTH CENTRAL TOURNAMENT
#6 Augustana upset #3 Nebraska Omaha in a sweep 28, 24, 27. They now face UM Duluth.

#2 UM Duluth advanced to the semis after a sweep of MSU Mankato 28, 24, 25.

#1 Concordia St. Paul didn't have the problems they had with Northern State last week in a 24, 19, 14 sweep. CSP's Maggie McNamara set a school record with 1864 assists.

#4 Wayne State ended SW MN State's season in four games. After a split of the first two games Wayne State won 24, 27. From the Marshall Independent.

D3 MIDWEST REGIONAL
St. Thomas upset UW Oshkosh in five. St. Thomas had their backs to the wall down 2-1.

Concordia Moorhead went four games to down Beloit.

Eau Claire had to go five to beat Carthage. They too trailed 2-1 before mounting their rally. The final game went extra points 17-15.

In the Midwest region has named its all region team and Tim Mosser, Concordia Moorhead was named coach of the year.

Azerbaijan upset the United States in five games in the World championships. Azerbawho? the US knows now not to overlook teams. From the Pioneer Press.
