NATIONAL FEATURE
Here is a story from USA Today about Kyndra Abron, a hitter from Livonia Churchill. It is a Q&A. She will be headed to Michigan State. This is a new feature on USA Today about sports that don't get a lot of ink.

NATIONAL RANKINGS
In the MaxPreps National High School Volleyball ratings Mira Costa, CA is #1. 12 of the top 25 teams are from California. The Top Minnesota teams checks in at #29---Shakopee. Lakeville North isn't far behind at #31. Eagan is #50.

They also rate teams by state by all classes. In Minnesota's rankings the three above are 1, 2, 3 and Jordan is #4. Marshall is 6th overall. In the last AA poll Marshall was 6th in their class. So far I have seen 8 of the top 10 teams according to MaxPreps with Jordan and Owatonna missing my viewing. I haven't seen 8 of the teams from 11-20. You can check out where your school is located in the find a school button. For example Mpls Henry is #357 best team in the state.

Brittany Chambers of Jordan leads the Minnesota kills per game parade at 5.6 according to the MaxPreps folks. If you haven't added your stats to their database you still can. It is a good way to promote your players.
The conferences that are doing the best job of promoting their players are the Northwest Suburban with 8 of 10 schools putting their stats in (.800) and the Classic Suburban with 6 of 8 (.750).
Odd as it sounds some of the top teams in the state haven't uploaded their stats yet.
