PLAYOFF PRIMER TUESDAY
Tonight throughout the state the march to the state tournament continues with 56 matches. Here are some previews:
AAA
1: The semifinals are Thursday with Owatonna playing Faribault and Farmington facing Rochester Mayo. See 1AA for more.

3: four teams that spent a good chunk of time in the top 10 meet in South St. Paul
Burnsville plays Eagan at 5:45 followed by #1 Lakeville North vs Eastview at 7 pm (or later). This section (along with section 2) are good reasons to seed the entire state 1-96. Three teams will not get to the big dance in this section. This is the place to be tonight bar none.

8: Bemidji takes on St. Michael-Albertville in Little Falls in one semifinal. The Lumberjills haven't been to state in volleyball. From the Bemidji Pioneer.

AA
1: Stewartville is set to battle Cannon Falls on Wednesday (not today) for the West side title. Caledonia faces St. Charles in the East. From the Rochester Post Bulletin.

3: Yellow Medicine East plays Lac Qui Parle Valley in Redwood Falls tonight. From the Marshall Independent.
Another battle of top 10 teams takes place at Worthington at 6 pm with Jackson County Central vs Marshall.

5: tonight my school, Minneapolis Henry, hosts Fridley vs Orono and Columbia Heights vs Delano. This is where I will be.

A
1: Wabasha-Kellogg, the #5 seed will be looking to continue their upset string when they meet Fillmore Central in the East final. Bethlehem Academy will be playing Kenyon-Wanamingo in the West. In the AA article in the RPB.

5: Osakis beat Bertha-Hewitt on Friday in four games and advanced to the semis in Brainerd tonight. Before BH, Osakis swept Upsala on Thursday. From the Osakis Review.

#2 VS #3
Both UM Duluth and Concordia St. Paul bumped up one spot in the polls. They play each other tonight in Duluth.

AWARDS
The MIAC offense award went to two players this week: Laurel Heggernes of St. Benedict and Michelle Honek of Concordia Moorhead. The setter/defensive award goes to Emily Foster of St. Thomas. This is Foster's second award this year.

END OF SEASON
HS
Littlefork-Big Falls lost to Hill City on Saturday in 7A. From the International Falls Daily Journal.

COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Rochester finished 5th in the State Community College tournament last weekend. From the Rochester Post Bulletin.
