Minnesota had a measure of revenge with a sweep of Northwestern.

NW led early 9-5 before MN went on a 12-5 run to go up 17-14. Brooke Dieter had four straight points in the run on points 9-12 with three kills and a block. Dieter closed out the run with four straight service points. A NW time out stopped the run. NW forced a tie at 20 all on a run of three. MN answered with the next three points. NW again tied the game at 25. A missed serve by Anderson gave the ball back to MN and Dieter never gave it back. She had two aces in the last four points. The odd thing about game one---MN only had a fbso% of .400. The difference was they didn't permit runs to get out of hand. MN won the runs of 3 in game one 5-2.

The Gophers took the early lead 15-7 in game two. NW was forced to take two time outs on Rachel Hartmann's serve. Jessy Jones had three points in the five point run. The second time out by NW stopped the bleeding momentarily. MN's largest lead came at 20-9. After that the Gophers stalled out and NW finished with a 16-10 run.

After the break, NW took the early lead 8-4 after Minnesota gave away six points on errors. MN took their first lead at 11-10. Kyla Roehrig had three straight points, two on blocks to take the lead. NW held their last lead at 24-23. Three straight Dieter kills forced NW to take a time out. Roehrig finished off the Wildcats with three points.

Minnesota wasn't as sharp in this game as last night. The

Now the Gophers will need to take at least one of two next week on the road at Wisconsin and Illinois. The Illini took a match at home back in October.

This game marked the end of seniors Jessy Jones and Kelly Roysland's home career.
