EASTVIEW TOURNAMENT
5th place Semifinal
HOPKINS royals 2, LAKEVILLE SOUTH cougars 1
(25-19, 18-25, 15-9)

Hopkins beat Lakeville South breaking free from a 7 all tie in the deciding third set with a three point run and closing with a 8-2 run. I got to this contest late thanks to two road projects. Lakeville South was on my to do list, so that was the prime reason to watch this 5-8th Place semifinal round.

In the second set (the first complete set I watched) LS used a six point run to expand their lead out to 23-13. Four of those points came on Hopkins hitting errors. LS led at this point 23-13. Hopkins put together a three point run which that was a harbinger of things to come.

In the final set Hopkins had 7/8 first ball side outs in putting together their win. The Royals had help in three of the first four Cougar servers as they couldn't get the ball in play. In the late 8-2 run by Hopkins Alicia Vossen had four of the points including the final tip kill.
