The #12 Gophers swept Eastern Kentucky in the Cal Berkeley tournament.

Illinois swept Marquette in the first game of the State Farm Illini Classic.

Indiana won twice yesterday in the Valparaiso tournament: 3-1 over Marshall and a sweep over the hosts.

Iowa topped instate rival Drake 3-1 in the opening game of the Hampton Inn State of Iowa Volleyball Challenge. In the other game it was Iowa State upsetting #21 LSU 3-1.

Michigan won twice on Friday to remain unbeaten. The Wolverines opened with a sweep of Eastern Michigan and then had to rally from a 2-0 deficit to top Xavier.

Michigan State won twice at the Harvard tournament. The Spartans swept Wofford and Boston College. MSU coach Cathy George picked up career win #400.

Northwestern was not kind to host Georgetown in a sweep. It was coach Keylor Chan's 100th win at Northwestern.

#3 Penn State swept #24 St. John's in the Penn State Classic.

Purdue swept Furman in the Clemson tournament.

Wisconsin swept Columbia in the Loyola Marymount tournament.

San Diego got back on the winning track with a 3-1 win over UC Santa Barbara.

Stony Brook beat Fairfield in the Seton Hall Tournament in a sweep.

#22 Kansas State broomed Northern Iowa.

Illinois Chicago beat North Dakota State 3-1 in the UIC tournament.

South Dakota State won their first game in their own tournament with a sweep of North Texas.
