The Gophers weren't the only ranked Big 10 team to get upset last night.
#10 Wisconsin fell to #15 BYU in Provo, Utah.
Dayton swept #17 Purdue in West Lafayette. Purdue's Anne Mastandrea notched her 1000 dig in her career.
#3 Penn State avoided an upset with #18 Cal Poly in a five game match in Lincoln.
Loyola Marymount topped Northwestern in a sweep in the Four Points Sheraton LAX Classic.
Some Big 10 fared better.
#13 Ohio State beat Pacific in a shut out at Colorado State.
Michigan State beat Kansas in five in East Lansing.
Illinois split their games yesterday in Houston losing to #22 LSU in five and sweeping host Rice later.
Indiana beat Belmont 3-1 in Tennessee.
#20 Michigan continues to win with a sweep over host Miami, OH
Long Beach State swept Fairfield. The Stags are now 0-5.
Northern Iowa picked up a sweep over American. Champlin Park's Amy Sampson had 17 kills to lead UNI.
North Dakota State fell for the first time this year with a fiver with Duquesne. In the match Kari Fagnan from Fridley set a new NDSU career dig mark with 1577.
New Mexico swept Iowa State in the Hilton Phoenix/Mesa Challenge at Arizona State. Earlier the Cyclones beat Northern Arizona in four. Erin Boeve of Hills-Beaver Creek had 14 kills vs NM and 12 vs NA.
Creighton was swept by national champ Nebraska.
Denver beat Auburn in four.
Marquette topped Miami, FL in five in Milwaukee.
Providence lost to Presbyterian in four.
Tulane beat South Dakota State.
Stony Brook lost to Portland State in a sweep in the Cal State Fullerton tournament. The day before the Seawolves fell to Cal State Bakersfield in four in a general nonconference game.
COMMUNITY COLLEGE
