GOPHERS $1 NIGHT
Minnesota will try to break their attendance record of 10,927 set on Oct. 16, 2004 against Illinois on Saturday night (Oct 14) as they host Purdue at Williams Arena at 7 pm. General Admission will be $1.
NORTH SUBURB TRIO
Blaine, Hill-Murray and Totino-Grace are featured in the Star Tribune Northern Suburban edition this week. Blaine was expected to be strong this year, but HM & TG have turned some heads.
HENRY SWEEPS NORTH
Minneapolis Henry picked up their third straight win with a 13, 17, 8 sweep of Mpls. North at North. Henry led early in all games and only trailed 1-0 in the 3rd game. In game 1 Henry led 8-3 early. North did close to 11-10, but a missed serve gave Henry breathing room at 12-10. Henry closed out with a 13-3 run.
In game two Henry again jumped out to a 9-2 lead. North was able to hold Henry as they had three side outs in four serves. North did close to 18-14, but again, a missed serve stopped the momentum. Henry got three straight sideouts at 20-15.
In game 3 Henry sided out 7/8 times only missing on the first serve. Henry took control on Kiah Hanssen-Kilpatrick's serve when she notched four straight aces in building a 9-3 lead. Mai Chia Yang had five services points as a pinch server to make it 17-6 when she was done with her serve.
For the Game KHK had 8 kills, and 6 aces. Stef Zappa had 14 assists.
LAST WEEK
Paynesville lost twice last week to Albany and Sauk Centre in sweeps. from the Paynesville Press.
