AWARDS & HONORS
Gopher Meredith Nelson shared the offensive player of the week honor with Penn State's Christa Harmotto in the Big 10. Nelson had a career high 24 kills and career high 3 aces on Sunday against Michigan State.
Vicky Braegelmann picked up her 4th player of the week award from the North Central Conference. Allison Louwagie, who helped North Dakota to an upset win over Nebraska Omaha, was setter of the week. Adding to North Dakota's total is Heidi Evans as defensive player of the week.
In the Northern Sun Jessica Lucia, Concordia St. Paul picked up her 2nd honor in a row. Also winning honors for CSP was setter Maggie McNamara her 4th time this year. Melanie Perez, Northern State was the Defender of the week.
Gustavus and Bethel picked up awards in the MIAC. Gustavus' Jennifer Thelemann, was the offensive player while Bethel's Laura Naig won the setter/libero award.
RANKINGS
The Gophers edged back into the top 25 with a spot at #24. They did beat former #24 Michigan last weekend. From the Gophers press release.
MONDAY RESULTS
Rogers picked up a big win over older sister school Elk River in a rivalry game 3-1. ER won the first game, but Rogers took the rest. From the Elk River Star News.
Caledonia took St. Charles in five games. This game plus other action in the Winona Daily News.
LATE LATE GAMES
I already had the Moorhead side of things in the Marshall sweep this weekend. Now it is the Marshall Independent's time.
Russell-Tyler-Ruthton won their own tournament with a 2-1 win over Murray County Central in the finals. again from the Marshall Independent.
