TOURNAMENTS X TWO
Today I traveled to Apple Valley, first stopping at Eastview for their tourney and finishing up at Apple Valley. Unfortunately I didn't get to the first game in the championship at Eastview. I arrived there at 12:45, and the schedule indicated that the game would start then. The championship was already one game old when I found my seat, so all you will get is the synopsis of game two of

EASTVIEW CHAMPIONSHIP
Andover 2, Stewartville 0
(25-18, 25-17)

Andover won their two games yesterday 2-0, Stewartville had to go to 3 before pulling off the wins. Stewartville did have one player out with an ankle injury that happened on Thursday.
Game 2, as it turned out, was tight early on as Stewartville led 8-7 after a missed Andover serve. Andover missed four serves in this game. Andover got the side out on a kill by Erickson on Rainey's serve to tie it up. With Amy Olson serving Andover put some distance between the two teams. Olson served up three points and it looked as if it would be four, but after a Stewartville time out, Andover apparently was in the net on a block 11-9. Erickson provided two of the Andover points in the run with a block and a kill. Three side outs later Erickson served up one point as Samantha Neunsinger had a tip kill for a 14-10 Husky lead. Stewartville did mount a small rally to bring the game back to 16-14 on Laura Hoover's serve, but the two point margin was as close as it was going to be. Andover got three points on Heidi Larsen's serve to make it 21-16 after the side out. Two of the points were the result of Stewartville net violations. Olson closed out the game with three serves helped by Megan Carlson's two kills.

Missed serves didn't come back to bite Andover on the rear. But Andover is strong in siding out and Erickson provided two kills in that department to lead Andover. Andover also limits runs as the best Stewartville could muster was a two point service run. Andover on the other hand had three.
