Coon Rapids 3, Park Center 1
25-22, 18-25, 25-17, 25-17

In the Northwest Suburban conference match up tonight it was Coon Rapids over Park Center with the only blemish in game two.

The tightest game took place in game one. PC led early after with an 11-8 lead after the first cycle through the rotations. But CR was able to get the side out against PC with a Gunderson hitting error. When Kayla Haller got the ball she served up five straight including an ace. This was one of the four times PC failed to side out in this game. PC sided out at .692 for the first game. After her serve CR was up 14-12. PC scrambled back and pulled ahead 20-19 after a CR setting error by Jessica Pierce 20-19. CR got the side out to tie it up and then Pierce served up three points to put the Cardinals up 23-20. Both teams had side outs to finish with Mary Hill finishing the game with a kill from the right side off the serve.

CR led early in game two at 7-4. The last time they led it was 9-7 after a disputed ace by Michell Janni. Her next serve was in the net and PC's Stephanie Hare served up three straight aces and PC never trailed after that 11-10. 7 straight side outs kept PC ahead slightly and when Alison Hanson knocked down an overpass kill on Gunderson's serve it broke the pattern. Hanson had four points earned this game with her net play with 2 overpass kills and two blocks. Molly Lundholm put points 22 & 23 in the PC column with a tip kill and another kill. A CR passing error ended the second game 25-17.

PC led 9-6 in the third game, but a 7-2 run by CR gave the lead momentarily to Cardinals 13-11. Three straight CR hitting errors gave PC the lead at 14-13. But Lundholm served into the net to tie it up. That started a four person missed serve pattern for PC so CR never really had to work to side out. That was all the opening CR needed. CR finished off the 3rd game with a 11-2 run. Mary Hill had a hand in six of those points with 4 kills, 1 blocks and an ace on the 25 point 25-17.

In game four PC grabbed an early 5-1 lead after a Gunderson ace. But the reliable siding out the PC exhibited in games 1&2 had disappeared. Hill added three points on her serve, and Abby Bisjolie put five more on the board for CR. PC took a time out at 11-6 to try to stop the CR momentum. CR did have an overpass hitting error after the time out, but the missed serve bug came back to bite PC. They had four in this game. Hill again served up four points to make it 21-13. PC used their last time out at 20-13 to no availe. Three of the Hill points were the result of PC hitting errors. The final point came on Kari Mast's ace 25-17.
