Sleepy Eye St. Mary's went five with MN Valley Lutheran. MVL lost Kara Black earlier in the week due to a car accident. More in the New Ulm Journal.

After a tough loss to the Stewartville Tigers Tuesday, Byron bounced back to win their match at Lake City. The Bears defeated the Tigers 25-21, 25-17, 24-26, 25-22. Ashley Pyfferoen and Jill Stolie had 14 kills a piece to lead the Bear attack. Pyfferoen had 5 ace serves and 13 digs. Storlie had 4 ace serves and 14 digs. Nicole Koester added 9 kills, 15 digs, and 3 ace serves. Racquel Reker had 7 kills, 3 ace blocks and 6 digs. Brittlyn Olson had 23 set assists, 6 ace serves, and 5 kills. Stephanie Vosberg had 13 set assists and 6 digs. Tara Hanenberger had 7 digs. The Bears are now 14-5 overall and 7-1 in the HVL conference. They host their own 8 team tournament Saturday.
