Tournament Leftovers

If you haven't rechecked the stories from this Saturday, I have modified them and added more information. It was late and I was tired after the avalanche of volleyball on Saturday night. I did need to sleep a few hours.

TOURNAMENT LEFTOVERS
Minneota was crowned champs on Saturday. Monday the Marshall Independent trumpets their achievement.

Pipestone was 3rd in AA with their 3-1 win over LeSueur-Henderson. From the Worthington Daily Globe.

Marshall ended their season with a 5th place triumph over Wayzata in the AAA division. Here is more in the Marshall Independent.

Hibbing's State tournament experience is recounted here with their quarterfinals loss to Blaine and the consolation loss to Marshall. From the Hibbing Daily News.

GOPHERS GOLDEN
Meredith Nelson set an NCAA record with her 18 straight service points (it may have gone on longer, but on potential point 19 it just plopped over the net with players looking at each other).
Also during the weekend smoking of Illinois and Northwestern Kelly Bowman topped the 1000 career dig mark. From the MN Daily.
