Dieter Gopher Tournament MVP

MINNESOTA WINS GOPHER INVITATIONAL
Minnesota wrapped up their second tournament with a 3-1 win over Creighton. Brook Dieter had her third straight 20 kill game and she was joined by Kayla Roehrig with 20 kills. Dieter has had 8 double digit kill games, and 5 20+ kill games this year. Chaska's Allie Oelke had 13 kills for Creighton. Dieter was named MVP with teammates Jessy Jones and Roehrig named to the all tournament team. Oelke also made the all tournament team.

UW Green Bay beat Charlotte in a sweep in the other tournament game. Bethlehem Academy's Betty Slinger was named to the all tournament team.

#3 Stanford edged #2 Penn State in five in the championship of the Yale Classic.

#23 St. John's beat Indiana in the Hoosier tournament in a sweep.

Iowa won their own tournament with a sweep of the College of Charleston.

#10 Michigan is undefeated with a fiver over Georgia Tech.

Michigan State beat Central Michigan for their 9th straight win.

#20 Ohio State lost to Oregon in the final in the Sports Import Classic.

Purdue lost to USC at Ohio State in a sweep.

Northwestern won their own tournament with a 3-1 victory over St. Louis. In the match Courtnie Paulus notched her 1000th kill of her career.

Illinois swept Toledo giving coach Don Hardin his 200th win at Illinois.
UCLA beat San Diego in five.

OTHERS
Long Beach State beat #17 Ohio in the Denver Pioneer tournament championship.

Denver swept Washington State in the finals of their tournament.

South Dakota State beat IPFW in Summit League action

Northern Iowa beat Wichita State. Champlin Park's Amy Sampson had 7 kills for UNI.

Marquette swept Houston Baptist.

Iowa State swept #25 Texas A&M in Big 12 action. Hills-Beaver Creek's Erin Boeve had 16 kills for ISU.

UConn finished 3rd in their own tournament with a loss to Middle Tennessee State. Hopkins' Bridget Denson-Dorman was named to the all tournament team.
