AWARDS DEADLINE!
Today is the date that MN HS All State nominations need to be postmarked. Don't let this deadline slip by and have a deserving player standing out in the cold. You can download the forms from the MNVBCA site.
Also the AVCA has an awards progam including All American. Their deadline is Dec. 1 and you complete the information online. You don't have to rush for this one.
Coaches must belong to each organization to nominate for the respective awards.

THURSDAY RESULTS
AAA
Rochester John Marshall dropped Albert Lea 16, 21, 21 in Big 9 action. More in the Albert Lea Tribune. If you didn't read post #1 Sam Sikkink, from Rochester John Marshall, is featured on a sports clip from station KTTC in Rochester.

Willmar won the battle of the Cardinals dropping Alexandria in five in an upset in the Central Lakes conference. Willmar took game two 29-27, and then crushed Alex 25-13 in game four. They used that momentum for a 15-12 game five. The contest lasted almost two hours. Willmar did this feat during homecoming week. Story from the West Central Tribune.

Little Falls went four with Brainerd failing to take game three. This was another Central Lakes conference match. From the Brainerd Dispatch.

#1 DGF continued to roll with a 15, 19, 16 sweep of Barnesville. Erica Nord of Barnesville reached the 1000 kill mark in the game. Scroll down to find this action in the Fargo Forum.

Wadena-Deer Creek stopped Crosby-Ironton in MidState action 16, 13, 17. From the Brainerd Dispatch.

St. Cloud Cathedral is undefeated at 5-0 after a four game West Central North match with Melrose . Melrose prevented the sweep with a 26-24 game three win. This game and more in the St. Cloud Times.

Yellow Medicine East's win over Benson in three created a three way log jam at the top of the West Central South.
New London-Spicer and Minnewaska picked up West Central North wins for the first time this season against Paynesville and LPGE.
Renville County West swept Dawson-Boyd in Camden North action 14, 19, 23. All of the above three from the West Central Tribune.

Jackson County Central had more in the tank in a five game Southwest Conference match with Worthington. JCC took the odd games with 15-13 final. From the Worthington Daily Globe.

#1 Minneota swept Lincoln HI-Lake Benton 12, 6, 13 in a quick match in the Camden South. From the Marshall Independent.
Glenville-Emmons beat Houston 12, 18, 13 in Southeast conference action. It was GE's third win in a row.
Truman topped Alden-Conger in four. AC won game three to stop the sweep. Both stories from the Albert Lea Tribune.
