BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 3, FRIDLEY 0
Benilde-St. Margaret's picked up their third win in a row with a 18, 18, 21 sweep over North Suburban foe Fridley.

In game one both teams traded side outs for the seven serves, when Fridley finally kept serve on Molly Roith's serve that was their biggest lead at 5-3. Benilde scored the next three points to get the lead 6-5 and they never trailed again. The biggest run Benilde had was on Kachine Alexander's serve with three points to go along with the side out for an 18-11 lead. Fridley had problems with serving with four missed serves all on initial serves.

Game two had the same final result, but not the same beginning. Benilde got off to a rolling start with six service points off of Erin Sherman serve. Hannah Redding added three more serve points for a 13-2 lead. Their biggest lead came at 18-6 after Megan Kelly's three serves. Fridley burned their last time out during Kelly's serve. They then started their comeback. Alyssa Archer delivered three points off her serve to cut it to 20-13. One problem for Fridley was that in the last five serves two missed giving two free points for Benilde. Of course the main problem was digging a 12 point hole.

Fridley started off with some momentum in game three with a 6-3 lead after Felicia Kelley's serve. She provide four points off her serve, but Benilde was responsible for three on hitting errors. Benilde had their first lead at 9-8 after on two serves by Daydra Lorenson. Fridley had one last gasp with an 11-10 lead, but Lauren Carisch ripped off five straight points including the first two aces for a 16-11 lead. BSM never trailed again.

Both teams had errors to the tune of 41 each. Benilde's hitting game was somewhat more effective with 29 kills to 13 for Fridley. BSM also had better ball control. Benilde still is experimenting with lineups, but it may be due to parent's night and everyone plays.

SIDE OUT:
It was parent's night at Benilde and Tim Mayclin and his wife came down from Bemidji to watch Brittany. Brittany is staying with her sister in the Twin Cities. It was good to sit with coach Mayclin during the game.

Next up: tomorrow morning with the Thursday night results.
