Prior Lake Knocks Out #10 Eden Prairie

AAA PLAYOFFS
There were five upsets last night in AAA action. The first top 10 team fell--#10 Eden Prairie lost to Prior Lake in five in rough and tumble section 2.
Also last night there were five 5 set matches and 18 sweeps.

#1 Owatonna swept #8 Red Wing with a margin of 26 points. Jordan Spatenka had 16 kills for the Huskies. From the Owatonna People's Press and Red Wing Republican Eagle.
#3 Rochester Mayo beat #6 Austin in four with a margin of 30 points. From the Austin Daily Herald.
#2 Farmington swept #7 Faribault with a margin of 27 points. From the Farmington Independent.
#4 Rochester Century beat crosstown rival Rochester JM in four with a margin of 7 points. Brittany Weidman had 16 kills for Century. From the Rochester Post Bulletin.

#5 Prior Lake knocked off #4 Eden Prairie in five. EP is the first top 10 team to fall. EP has been battling injuries of late. The Eagles also had a 4 point advantage for the match. PL led 2-0. From the SW Scoreboard.

#1 Shakopee swept #9 Mankato East with a margin of 35 points.

#5 Cretin-Derham Hall upset #4 Tartan in a sweep.

#5 Spring Lake Park upset #4 Maple Grove in five.

All the top seeds moved on. The only tight contest was #4 Bloomington Jefferson taking down #5 Minneapolis Southwest in five.

#5 Forest Lake beat #4 Duluth East in four.

#3N Bemidji upset #2N Sauk Rapids in five with a margin of 19 points. Kayla Hirt had 22 points for Bemidji. From the Bemidji Pioneer.

#2S St. Cloud Tech beat #6S St. Cloud Apollo in five with a margin of 24 points. It was the third time Tech topped their rival. Meagan Loesch had 20 kills for Tech. Mackenzie Birr had 26 kills for Apollo. Plus 10 other reports from the St. Cloud Times.
