Two Upsets in 8AAA

#6 Austin beat #11 Northfield in four with a margin of 14 points. Rebekah Aase had 18 kills for the Packers. From the Austin Post Bulletin.

#5 Rochester JM swept #12 Albert Lea with a margin of 30 points. From the Rochester Post Bulletin and Albert Lea Tribune.

#8 Red Wing topped #9 Winona in four with a margin of 11 points. From the Red Wing Republican Eagle and Winona Daily News.

#7 Faribault swept Hastings with a margin of 16 points. Shannon Byers had 17 kills for the Falcons. From the Faribault Daily News.

#7 Willmar beat #10 Mankato West in a fiver with a margin of 10 points. Kelsey Evans had 22 kills for the Cardinals. From the West Central Tribune.

I reported on the #5 Prior Lake sweep of Buffalo last night.

Also moving on was #9 Mankato East in a sweep over #8 Minnetonka.

#9 White Bear Lake beat #8 St. Paul Central in five with a margin of 8 points.
The other top seeds---#7 North St. Paul, #5 Cretin-Derham Hall, and #6 Hill-Murray all advanced.

#9 Champlin Park beat #8 Rogers in four with a margin of 15 points. From the Elk River Star News.
The other top seeds move on---#5 Spring Lake Park and #7 Mounds View. No word on Coon Rapids vs Park Center.

The top seeds #5 Minneapolis Southwest, #6 Armstrong, and #7 Benilde-St. Margaret's all move on. No word on the Edina vs Richfield match up.

All four top seeds move on--#7 St. Francis, #5 Forest Lake, #8 Cambridge-Isanti, and #6 Chisago Lakes.

#6S seed St. Cloud Apollo upset #3S Monticello in a fiver. Monticello had an 8 point advantage for the night. Mackenzie Birr had 34 kills for Apollo. Plus two more results from the St. Cloud Times.

#3N Bemidji swept #6N Brainerd with a margin of 36 points. From the Bemidji Pioneer.

#4N Moorhead swept #5N Sartell with a margin of 24 points. Kassie Hooten and Kaitlyn Rogalla each had 14 points for the Spuds. From the Fargo Forum.
