TAN AGAIN
The Gophers Christine Tan has won the Big 10 defensive player of the week for the fourth time this year and the third week in a row.
Penn State's Nicole Fawcett took home the Big 10 offensive player of the week honors. Fawcett took home the honors two weeks ago and has 8 for her career.
CLINTON DAY
Illinois will hold Clinton Day (no not Bill or Hillary) on October 19 vs Wisconsin

D2 AWARDS
MSU Mankato's Ashley Nachreiner (Round Rock, TX) was named offensive player of the week in the Northern Sun.
Concordia St. Paul's Mary Slinger (Bethlehem Academy) was the defensive player of the week.
Augustana's Lisa Hoegh (Byron) was the setter of the week.
LATE HIGH SCHOOL RESULTS
Pine River-Backus finished in 4th place at the Nevis tournament over the weekend. Plus four other tournament results from the Brainerd Dispatch.
Here are the results from Bigfork's 3rd Annual On The Edge volleyball tournament this past weekend....The theme was western with root beer floats and country western music during the warmups and in between games. The trophies were made of Barn Wood with an old horseshoe and the information burned into the wood with a wood burner.
Last year's tournament was a Hawaaian theme with wooden surfboards as trophies and blended smoothies.
