WEEKLY REVIEW #9: Second Season
The regular season is over and the sections have seeded--at least most of them (six are still unknown). Looking at the classes here are some observations
AAA
Toughest section: 2 (Shakopee, Chaska, Waconia, and Eden Prairie are all in the top 10); runner up--3 (Eastview and Lakeville North).
#1 in danger: Grand Rapids in 7. Andover is the 2 seed.
AA
Toughest section: 2 with Jordan and LeSueur-Henderson the top seeds. Belle Plaine is also a top 10 team in the mix.
#1 in danger: Mora in 5 North.
A
Toughest section: 1 with Bethlehem Academy, Wabasha-Kellogg and Mabel-Canton all in the top 10.
#1 in danger: Carlton in 7 East.

TRENDS
Looking back at the FBSO% (First Ball Side Out%) for the out & abouts I saw this year here are the findings--
FBSO%: w-l win%
.600: 22-2 .917 (the losses were in tournaments that went three sets).
.500 10-13 .435
.400 3-11 .214
.300 1-10 .091

The first section games start tomorrow with half the teams in the state looking at the end of the line by the end of the week.

This week was a quick week with only two matches viewed. Eagan and Cretin-Derham Hall get the majority of spots on the weekly team

TEAM OF THE WEEK
Eagan dominated in their win over New Prague on Thursday with a season high FBSO of .867. NP only managed to score on four of their serves. On top of that Eagan did not allow a run of three all night. The Wildcats also allowed a season low 10.67 points per set. Eagan finished the week at the Chaska tournament and ended up in 5th place ahead of three teams in the top 10s in A and AA. The Wildcats also defeated the other winner I saw during the week-Cretin-Derham Hall.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Madeline Howard of Cretin-Derham Hall was a force at the net vs White Bear Lake. She had 4.5 blocks and 11 kills and when she was at the net CDH scored 69 of the 99 points 70% of their total.
