BLAINE TOURNAMENT

The Blaine Bengals opened up their tournament with a convincing sweep of section rival Totino-Grace. Blaine never trailed in either game. The Bengals earned 37 points on the day while TG only scraped together 7 earned points.
The Bengals blew the first set open when Amber Marciniak, the second Blaine server ran off nine straight points. Ari Mewhorter had a hand in seven of those points and scored 10 of the 12 in Blaine's 12-1 run. The Bengals led 21-6 in the first set when TG had their biggest run of the day with five straight. Blaine eventually finished off the Eagles 25-13.
The second set was much like the first with the Bengals generating multiple points on almost every serve. The Bengals were up 9-2 quickly.
For the day Ari Mewhorter had 17.5 points.
