BLAINE TOURNAMENT
pool play
MINNETONKA skippers 2, ST. FRANCIS saints 0
(25-19, 25-14)

Minnetonka swept St. Francis in pool play at the Blaine tournament on Saturday. The Skippers never trailed in the first set, and only trailed 3-1 in the second. Minnetonka generated 35 earned points while St. Francis was about half at 18.

Tonka led early at 5-1 in the first set and kept building that lead out. At the widest the Skippers led by nine twice at 14-5 and at 22-13. St. Francis closed with a 6-3 run, but the damage was already done.

A 9-3 run put Minnetonka in the drivers seat in the second set. That put the Skippers up 12-7 and they kept pushing that advantage higher. St. Francis closed to 20-14, but after a missed serve never saw the ball again.

Bianca Jensen led a balanced Minnetonka attack with 7 points, also the high of the game.
