Michigan Sweeps Ohio State to Open Big 10 Season

#21 Michigan swept Ohio State to open the Big 10 season. There were 10 points separating the teams. Beth Karpiak had 13 points for Michigan. Anna Szerszen had 15.5 points for OSU.
Susan Halverson (Apple Valley) had 8 digs for the Buckeyes.

#20 Illinois is at Indiana and Penn State this weekend.

Indiana hosts Illinois and Purdue this weekend.

#19 Purdue is at Indiana and Penn State.

#1 Penn State hosts Illinois and Purdue.

Iowa hosts #18 Wisconsin and Northwestern.

BIG 12
#3 Texas swept Iowa State. The difference was 10 points. Diane Kieger (Mounds View) had 9 points for ISU.

Georgia Southern beat Davidson in a sweep--the difference being 16 points. Brittany Narr (Minnehaha) played and did not score for Davidson.

North Dakota swept Presentation. Britta Hanson (Thompson, ND) had 13.5 points for UND. Heidi Meier (Marshall) had 9 points for Presentation.

Creighton hosts Missouri State and Wichita State this weekend in Missouri Valley action.

Marshall opens CUSA action with Memphis and UAB this weekend.

Texas Christian faces UNLV and San Diego State in Mountain West action.

Ohio takes on Akron and Buffalo in the Mid American Conference this weekend.

Carleton swept Augsburg--the margin 22 points. Kelly Lovett (Portland OR Lincoln) had 12.5 points for Carleton. Julie Jenkins (Edina) had 11.5 points for Augsburg.

Hamline swept Bethel--the margin 23 points. Emily Amici (Whitewater, WI) had 15 points for the Pipers. Chelsea Falck (Abundant Life, WI) had 7 points for the Royals.

St. Benedict swept St. Catherine. Neither site had a box score available

St. Mary's swept Macalester--9 point margin. Amy Kujak (River Falls, WI) had 16 points for St. Mary's. Majra Mucic (St. Louis Park) had 14 points for Mac.

St. Olaf beat Gustavus in five. Jessica Levin (Cedar Rapids Xavier) had 23 points and Kim Smisek (Northfield) added 21.5 for St. O. Meghan Gehring had 18 points for Gustavus.

#7 St. Thomas swept #14 Concordia Moorhead. Kylee Crotty (North St. Paul) had 19 points for St. Thomas. Katie Vohnoutka (Eden Prairie) had 7.5 points for CM.

Martin Luther swept North Central. Neither site is up to date. At least the New Ulm Journal has the correct information. Carrie Fritzler had 7 kills for ML.

#9 Oshkosh went five to beat #11 Whitewater. Megan Fischer (Manitowoc, WI) had 19.5 points for Oshkosh. Keri Klotzbuecher (Clintonville, WI) had 15 points for Whitewater.

LaCrosse swept Stevens Point---27 point margin. Amber Schoonover (Tomah, WI) had 15.5 points for LaCrosse. Jennifer Rueter (Burlington, WI) had 10 points for SP.

Superior beat Finlandia in four. no other real information was available.
