Apple Valley moved on to the final four of their first tournament with a two game win over AA DGF. The Eagles trailed 22-21 in game two before closing out with four straight points.

The Eagles jumped out early in game one with a 5-0 run and never looked back. DGF helped them out with three hitting errors to begin the run. DGF did manage to tie the game up at eight. A double contact gave the ball back to AV and Bentley Mancini. Mancini proceeded to to rattle off 10 straight points to push AV up 19-8. Mancini had four aces in the run. DGF tried to slow the AV Express with a pair of time outs at 14 and 18, but to no avail.

DGF got the kinks ironed out between games and took the early lead at 4-1 in game two. Compared to the first game, the second featured much better First Ball Side Out defense. At one stretch both teams traded eight straight side outs. DGF maintained a 17-14 lead with four points at that point from missed AV serves. The Eagles took a time out and that stopped the DGF momentum cold and shifted it to the AV side. What also stopped was the FBSO game. Neither team was able to stop the other. A run of four forced DGF to take a time out. That stopped AV. The Rebels scored the next two points after a pair of AV hitting errors and led 19-18. The Eagles responded with a run of three to go up 21-19 with a pair of Melissa Racz kills. DGF also responded with their own three point run to pull ahead 22-21. Another AV time out stopped the run and the Eagles never gave the ball back. Mancini wrapped up the night with three straight serves.
