Lopez (again) and Sampson MVPs, Stanford Falls

In the shocker of the day St. Louis stunned #3 Stanford in four.

Colorado State swept host Oregon State. Tessa Nelson (Tracy-Milroy-Balaton) had 7 points for CSU.

At the Jacksonville State Tournament Creighton swept Mississippi.
Jessica Houts (Bloomington Kennedy) had 11.5 points vs Ole Miss. Houts was named to the All Tournament team.
Allie Oelke (Chaska) did not score vs Mississippi.

In the Middle Tennessee tournament Iowa State swept Appalachian State and the Cyclones swept Florida International.
Diane Kieger (Mounds View) had 4 points vs AS and 1.5 points vs FIU.

In the Belmont tournament Furman swept Murray State and then the Paladins beat the hosts for the championship
Pamela Gehrke (Eastview) had 5 digs vs MS and 6 vs Belmont.

Marquette split the final two matches at Northern Iowa. They lost to the hosts in a sweep and beat Northern Illinois in four in the final match.
Leslie Bielski (Chaska) had 15 points vs UNI and 13 points vs NIU.

Northern Iowa beat Clemson in four.
Amy Sampson (Champlin Park) was named MVP. She had 8.5 points vs Marquette and 19.5 points vs Clemson.

Marshall beat East Tennessee State in four. The Thundering Herd was swept by Western Kentucky later.
Megan Carlson (Andover) had 5 points vs ETSU and 8 points vs WKU.
ETSU's Lauren Baufield (Wayzata) had 6 points vs Marshall.

Maryland Eastern Shore split their last two matches at Maryland Baltimore County's tournament. UMES they lost Duquesne 3-1 and then beat Niagara 3-1.
Chanita Wesley (Benilde-St. Margaret's) had 10 digs vs Duquesne and 16 digs and 3 points vs Niagara.

North Carolina swept Georgetown and the Tar Heels won their own tournament with Davidson. Davidson lost to Missouri State in four.
UNC's Brianna Eskola (Columbia Heights) had 12 digs vs Georgetown and 10 digs and 2 points vs Davidson.
Brittany Narr played but did not score vs Missouri State or UNC.

North Dakota won the Border Olympics beat UT Brownsville in a sweep and is now 8-0 on the year. Devin Trefz (Bagley) had 17 points for UND.

North Dakota State won their own championship with two four game win over UTEP and another four game win over Northern Colorado.
Brooke VandenBergh had 15.5 points vs UTEP.
Jennifer Lopez (DGF) was named MVP of the tournament, her second straight honor. Lopez had 14 kills, 23 assists, and 19 digs vs UTEP and 26 points, 21 kills, 17 assists, and 13 digs.

Host Rhode Island lost to South Carolina in five. The Rams then beat Boston College in five.
South Carolina won the RI Tournament with a sweep of Stony Brook.
Bridget Denson-Dorman (Hopkins) had 46 assists and 3 points vs RI and did not play against SB.
RI's Jillian Bekke (Cretin-Derham Hall) didn't play against USC. She played against BC, but did not score.
SB's Alicia Nelson (Eastview) had 7.5 points vs USC.

North Florida beat South Dakota State in four. Mackenzie Angner (Cincinnati St. Ursula) had 17 points for SDSU.

Texas Christian swept Prairie View and then the Horned Frogs won the tournament with a sweep over UT Pan American.
Jess Menden (Shakopee) had 18 assists and 1.5 points vs PV. Menden did not play UTPA.

Portland beat South Florida in five in their own tournament. Jennifer Sheedy (Totino-Grace) had 15 points for the Pilots.

Virginia beat Tennessee in five in Denver. Marlow Brunau (Lakeville) had 42 assists and 7 points for Virginia.

Notre Dame swept Washington State and then the Cougars fell to Eastern Washington in four in the Idaho tournament.
Emily Rooney (Red Wing) had 13 points vs ND and 11 vs EWU.

Weber State won twice yesterday at Baylor. The WSU beat San Diego State in four and beat UT San Antonio in five.
Leah Burmeister (Jackson Country Central) had 13 points vs SDSU and 6 points vs UTSA.
Brittney Bisaillon (JCC) had 14.5 points vs SDSU and 15 points vs UTSA.
