The Gopher's Lauren Gibbemeyer (Cretin-Derham Hall) was named AVCA Player of the Week. Gibbemeyer is feeling more like herself according to the Minnesota Daily.

#23 Illinois beat Illinois State in four. Laura DeBruhler had 24.5 points for Illinois.

Michigan State won their 7th straight match with a four set win over Oakland. Jenilee Rathje had 22 points for the Spartans.

Iowa is finally at home this weekend and will host Portland, DePaul and Xavier.

Michigan hosts Western Kentucky, Albany and Arizona State in the Wolverine's Tournament this weekend.

Northwestern hosts the Wildcat Classic with Georgetown, Virginia, and UCLA this weekend.

Ohio State is at the Kent State Tournament this weekend.

#20 Purdue travels to Dayton for a tournament this weekend.

Maryland Eastern Shore swept Norfolk State. Chanita Wesley (Benilde-St. Margaret's) had 7 digs for UMES.

North Dakota's 12 game winning streak came to an end in a fiver vs Jamestown. Devin Trefz (Bagley) had 13.5 points for the Fighting Sioux. Darci Purath (Red Lake Falls) had 21 points for Jamestown.

Northeastern beat Rhode Island in a sweep. Leah Neubeck (Hopkins) had 11 digs and one point for NE.

#12 Oregon swept Portland. Jennifer Sheedy (Totino-Grace) had 7 points for Portland.
